I was never lucky enough to meet my Grandad, when I was a little girl 56 seemed really old but now I know it was no age to be taken away from his devoted wife Nellie and their 5 children Tony, Elaine, Stephen, Susan and Kevin. Ive heard many stories about him and really wish I could have known him. I'm glad he and my Nanna are together again and I know Ill meet him one day and maybe he can make me a brew and stir it the way he did that bugged everyone :o)

I never got to meet you, I do wish that I had
Ive heard so much about you it makes me feel so sad
The way you used to stir your tea, Mum showed me what you'd do
And sometimes we will laugh out loud when we do it too
I dont want to hear the stories, I want memories of my own
I don't know the sound of your voice and now Im all grown
It doesnt get any easier, but harder to understand
The reason you were taken before I could even hold your hand
I only have a picture, it's really not the same
I would love to join you in there, if I could just step through the frame
You're stood in front of the Christmas tree, taken on your last Christmas, who was to know
And here I sit and write this and its just begun to snow
I'd love to spend some time with you, and see how you are
Maybe tonight I can make a wish upon a shooting star
That I could visit Heaven for just an hour or two
And give you a great big hug that will last a lifetime through
I pray that you have sunshine and days filled with laughter
And one day we'll all be there to live happily ever after
